Behind the Camera…
It all began in 2014 during my first solo adventure—a journey that would unknowingly change the course of my life. Armed with nothing but my cell phone and an insatiable curiosity, I found myself on the shores of Maho Beach, St. Maarten, where the roar of jet engines and the breathtaking sight of aircraft soaring just overhead left me utterly captivated. The sheer power, precision, and beauty of flight struck me in a way I had never experienced before. In that moment, as I snapped photo after photo, trying to freeze the magic in time, I felt a spark ignite—a passion for both aviation and photography that would grow stronger with each passing year.
By the end of 2016, I realized this passion wasn’t just a fleeting interest; it was something I wanted to pursue seriously. A simple cell phone was no longer enough—I craved more control, more detail, and more depth in my images. So, I made the leap and purchased my first DSLR camera, stepping into a whole new world of creative possibilities. With my camera in hand, I began capturing the urban beauty of my hometown, Chicago, as well as the stunning landscapes and vibrant cultures I encountered on my travels. Every photo became a story, a moment frozen in time, a testament to the incredible world we live in.
Yet, no matter where I went or what I captured, my heart always found its way back to aviation. The wonder I felt at Maho Beach never faded, and in 2018, I made aviation photography a central focus of my work. There is something electrifying about capturing an aircraft in motion—the raw power of a takeoff, the graceful descent of a landing, the dramatic interplay of light and sky as a plane soars through the clouds. It’s a challenge and a thrill, demanding patience, skill, and an understanding of both aviation and photography. But every time I nail a shot, freezing a moment of flight in all its majesty, I feel that same rush of excitement I did back on Maho Beach years ago.
Beyond aviation, my goal as a photographer is simple yet profound: to capture and share the beauty that surrounds us. Whether it’s the awe-inspiring landscapes that remind us of Earth’s natural wonders, the raw and unfiltered expressions of people that tell untold stories, or the mechanical marvels that defy gravity, my mission is to bring these moments to life through my lens. Photography is more than just taking pictures—it’s about preserving emotions, evoking wonder, and connecting people through shared experiences.
This journey has been one of discovery, learning, and growth, and it’s far from over.
